New pictures…finally!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any pictures, but we’ve been a little busy =)

Caden is now 6 months old and has been smiling and “talking”. He rolled over last week, but hasn’t done it since.

Cooper is now 22 months old and he’s still not sure about sharing his attention with Caden. He’s starting to put multiple words together in a sentence and tries to mimic everything we say…including “Oh Crap” (courtesy of Shannon)!

We started Caden on solids and he’s not too sure about it. So far he has had rice cereal and oatmeal.

Well, I’ll try to keep the pictures updated more often…

Resemblance

It has been interesting to see the resemblances of Cooper and Caden to Shannon and myself. Cooper has more of the Williams/Foster characteristics and Caden is a spitting image of me.

Talking II

Caden is “talking” too. Sometimes he chats up a storm. It’s really fun to hear all those baby noises…he is so sweet. He first started “talking” around 10 weeks old.

Talking

Cooper has been “talking” for about the last 3 months. His first complete word was “ball” and he can now say around 15-20 words.

Reflux

Caden was diagnosed with having reflux. We have been giving him Prevacid to help; we have to smash it up and give it to him from a syringe. Cooper never really spit-up, so we kind of knew something was up when Caden was spitting up after almost every feeding.

Because of the reflux, we have to put him in his swing to sleep and he has to sit upright for 20 minutes after a feeding. The Prevacid has helped a lot, but it could be another few months before he grows out of it.

Smiling

Caden started smiling around 7 weeks and is a very smiley baby. He is so good, that sometimes we don’t even know he’s in the room.

Signing

We’ve been teaching Cooper sign language (a mixture of baby signs and ASL signs) and he now knows around 50 different signs. His first sign was “where” and then “more” when he was around 11 months old.

Signing has been such a great way for Cooper to communicate with us and it’s amazing how quickly he picks up new signs.

Heart Murmur

When Caden was born, the nurse heard a heart murmur. At his 1 week doctors apointment, the doctor heard it as well. Just to be safe, we saw a cardiologist. After talking to the cardiologist, he assured us that it is a very minor (innocent) murmur that will go away within 6 months.

It has to do with the development of the heart and the transition from being in the womb to being “out”. More info…
